Parents in Sports

Doesn't anyone else thing parents are crazy when it come to sports? After coaching my own 8th grade girls CYO basketball team, I realized how crazy some really are! I had one father who would come to my practices and yell and scream at his daughter when she missed a shot or a layup. Then when we had games he would video tape the game for her to watch. Then after the game he would tell me that i think the girls should watch the tape and see what they have to work on. Keep in mind this is CYO, a church league. Girls in 8th grade play this to have fun! By the middle of the season I kicked him out of the gym during practice time. During the games I had to make a deal with him not to yell at his daughter while she is playing. He gets in her head and totally takes her out of her game. It's soooo crazy. Also, when I went to my brothers basketball game there were parents yelling at coaches and the refs. It's is out of control. These leagues that the kids play on is supposed to be fun. Sports is supposed to be fun for the kids. But, when the parents are crazy it doesn't make it fun. Kids are supposed to try all different kind of sports. But some parents are so crazy that has them doing one sport on all different teams. That is not normal for a kid. Parents these days are crazy and in the long run the kids are just going to lose interest in the sport. Which is not what we want.
